A lone strike from Olivier Seff Niyonzima in the 78th minute handed the blues a much deserved win which enabled them to maintain their lead at the summit of the league standings with 16 points. Following the hard fought win, Masudi attributed the win to the fans that were behind the team chanting throughout the whole game. “I don’t think I have ever played against a more defensive team like Bugesera. The crowd was really good from the start to finish and they were like ‘come on we have waited long enough. I am really happy with that and it helped players stay in the game, created more chances,” said Masudi. “Fans have played a key role in our unbeaten run,” Masudi further noted. The loss to Bugesera saw them slip to ninth spot with eight points while Rayon Sports is leading the table with 16 points having won five games and drawn one, followed by Police with 13 points, third is Etincelles with 11 points. Sunrise are fourth with 10 points same AS Kigali with the same 10 points in the fifth place.
