Dear editor, In my residential area, a lot has been said about the two senior six girls, who delivered babies in Kibungo hospital during the just concluded national examinations. It is however surprising that nothing has been said about the men who fathered the young girls. It is common knowledge that a woman gets pregnant after having sexual intercourse with a man. (There are cases of test-tube babies—Editor). Why then is everyone discussing the irresponsibility of these girls while the men who impregnated them walk with their heads high? Our country has come a long way, in empowerment women. The world over is also fighting such gender based inequalities. Now that our country ranks among the top in promoting gender balance, it is important that we also emphasise these values at the grass root level. I would like to thank Rwanda National Examinations Council (RNEC) for helping these girls complete writing all their papers, despite delivering in the course of the exams. Kibungo
