Kudos to RwandAir

Editor, RE: “RwandAir has done us proud” (The New Times, November 16). It is very encouraging to see how the national carrier is systematically and regularly adding destinations to its network. The airline industry is going through challenging times and to undertake the type of planned expansion, as one can see happening with RwandAir calls for immense expertise and judicial deployment of resources. We have been waiting for the airline here in Mumbai and it is my firm belief that RwandAir’s entry into the Indian skies will herald a new era of Indo-Rwandan partnerships. India is one of the world’s largest democracies. The Government of India has taken many bold, but well thought of measures to fast-track economic development in the country. For sure, we do have lessons to learn from Remarkable Rwanda in terms of good governance, ease of doing business and zero-tolerance to corruption. With RwandAir soon providing a direct link between these two great nations, we could well see giant strides in South-South co-operation and a marked improvement in the economic development of both countries. This is an indication of rapid growth of Rwanda airline operations worldwide. I wish RwandAir to grow and expand to the skies once dominated by Kenya Airways. I traveled to Ethiopia and I saw how local planes are flying over and landing as if they were from many airline companies. When I went to Ghana with RwandAir, I heard stories from clients about how this airline is loved and serving many travelers across Africa.
