Rwandan envoy to Liechtenstein presents credentials

Rwandan Ambassador to Germany, who also covers the Principality of Liechtenstein, Cesar Igor, yesterday, presented his letter of credence to Prince Alois, who presided over the ceremony on behalf of reigning Prince Hans Adam II. During the ceremony, Amb. Igor conveyed to Adam II President Paul Kagame’s greetings and wishes for the monarch’s good health. Before presenting his credentials, the ambassador paid a courtesy call on Aurelia Frick, minister for foreign affairs, education and culture of the Principality of Liechtenstein, according to a statement. The meeting was also attended by Amb, Martin Frick, director of the Office for Foreign Affairs. Discussions between the envoy and the Hereditary Prince as well as with the minister focused on commonality between the two countries and the need to establish relations that help the two countries to reach their respective ambitions. “Amb. Igor commended how Liechtenstein has been able to transform from an agrarian based economy into a modern and advanced economy based on the traditional values and expressed the desire of Rwanda to learn from their experience mainly in finance and education,” the statement said. Both the Hereditary Prince and the minister commended Rwanda for its rapid development despite its dark history. Rwanda and the Principality of Liechtenstein established bilateral relations in June, and this is the first time Rwanda is represented there. The Embassy of Rwanda in Germany is also accredited to Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia Republic, Poland and Ukraine.
