Editor, RE: “Should the labour ministry be handling employment issues?” (The New Times, November 3). In my view, each and every government policy proposal, no matter in what sector, should be assessed for its impact (positive, negative or neutral) on employment. Which thus requires that the right level for government coordination on employment should be either at the prime ministerial level or even the President’s Office as that may be the level of authority required to eliminate the possibility of bickering or to ensure proper coordination among different government departments and institutions.
