SundayRayon Sports vs AS Kigali 3:30pm AS Kigali head coach Eric Nshimiyimana has demanded for concentration from his players in today’s national football league showdown against rivals Rayon Sports at Kigali Regional Stadium. The City of Kigali sponsored side lost their first game of the 2016/17 season against Sunrise FC 1-0 but bounced back in style to defeat Rubavu-based Marine FC 3-0 courtesy of goals from Cedrick Kubwimana and former Police FC striker Emmanuel ‘Crespo’ Sebanani, who netted a brace. The 2013 Peace Cup winners were active in the transfer window, strengthening the squad with nine players having lost six first team players to other clubs. However, Nshimiyimana believes that their comfortable win against Marines gave his players a lot of confidence. “We played a very good game against Marines, the players executed our game plan pretty well, and I think we would have scored more goals but 3-0 is not a bad result, however, we need take this momentum into the games, starting with Rayon Sports on Sunday,” said Nshimiyimana. Nshimiyimana further noted that, “Against Rayon Sports, it going to be really tough, which is why we need total focus because, if we don’t, we will be punished.” The two sides met in the AS Kigali pre-season tournament and Djuma Masudi’s Rayon Sports ran out 2-0 winners. Rayon Sports, league champions in 2013, started the season with a resounding 3-0 win over Police FC before they were brought down to earth after a goalless draw against Rusizi-based Espoir FC last weekend. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
