Editor, RE: “RALC clears air on Miss Rwanda 2017” (The New Times, October 22). It was good to read the story and to know that the Miss Rwanda 2017 beauty contest will, in actual fact, take place. The Executive Secretary of Rwanda Academy of Language and Culture did well to clarify and clear all doubts and put false rumors to rest. The manner in which the reigning Miss Rwanda 2016, Jolly Mutesi, has been promoting noble causes and supporting select organisations, needs to be commended. She is a great “ambassador” for the country and has shown that Rwanda is blessed not just with natural beauty, but more, importantly, with beautiful people who are committed to making a difference to the country and to the world.
