Lomami fails trials at El-Itthad

ATRACO striker Andre Lomami a.k.a Petit Nonda has returned home after failing professional trials with Egyptian club El-Ittihad El-Iskandary. Atraco vice president Issa Ngenzi confirmed the development yesterday, saying that the striker returned back late last week after failing to impress during the two-week trials period. “He (Lomami) returned home, and according to the player, El Ittihad promised to invite hi for further trials in not-so distant future,” said Ngenzi. Atraco assistant coach Emmanuel Ruremesha also confirmed the striker’s failure to make the grade at El Ittihad and he’s since return to training with the league champions. “Lomami was not sounding as if he has hopes of returning to Egypt for further trials. It seems the trials failed,” noted Ruremesha. Efforts to get a comment from the former APR forward were futile as his phone was constantly switched off for whole of yesterday. Had Lomami passed the trials at El Ittihad, he would become the first Rwandan player to feature for a top Egyptian club. The 23-year-old striker has largely been a squad a player since joining the taxi-men club last season after being released by APR along with several other first team players. El-Itthad El-Iskandary based in Alexandria is one of the biggest football teams in Egypt. Ends
