RWANDA international Emery Bayisenge, who joined Moroccan Premier League side KAC Kenitra scored his first goal as his new team beat Olympic Club De Safi 2-1 on Sunday. The first half ended goalless but in the second half, Mohamed Hamdan put the visitors in the lead in the 57th minute while Rwandan international, Emery Bayisenge scored in the 71st minute to level the score. In the 75th minute, Issam El Farssi netted the winner for KAC Kenitra. This is the first win for KAC Kenitra in four games. The club is in 14th place in the sixteen team league with three points while leaders Ittihad Tanger have 9 points. “It feels good when you score goal and it was an equalizer when we were one goal down. I just want to continue working hard for the next games and see if I can do more,” Bayisenge said in a phone interview. The 22-year-old former Isonga and APR FC defender signed a three-year contract with the Moroccan club. In 2011, he captained Rwanda to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico after reaching the semi-finals of the Africa U-17 Youth Championships held in Kigali. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
