Rayon Sports Women FC has announced the signing of striker Libellée Nibagwire from AS Kigali on a one-year contract. READ ALSO: AS Kigali’s Kayitesi, Uwimbabazi join Rayon Sports WFC The development comes just six days after the club added midfielder Alodie Kayitesi and defender Immaculée Uwimbabazi from AS Kigali Women FC as well. Rayon Sports also signed Burundian midfielder Peace Olga Niyomwungeri from the same team. Bennie Axella Kana, the General Secretary of Rayon Sports WFC, told Times Sport that Nibagwire was a long-time target for the club and that the fans played a significant role in her signing. We have completed the signing of Nibagwire, a player we have followed and admired for a long time, said Kana. The club didn't spend a single coin on her signature; it was the fans who contributed all the funds, she added. Rayon Sports WFC was promoted to the topflight at the end of the 2022/23 season. The team is determined to challenge the dominance of AS Kigali WFC who have been the leading force in women's football in Rwanda for the past decade. The first round of the season left Rayon Sports WFC sitting in second place on the league table with 28 points, level with AS Kigali who lead on goal difference.
