The secret life of .... Dr. Richard Sezibera

He was once Rwanda’s Ambassador to the United States, and President Paul Kagame’s special envoy to the Great Lakes region. Sezibera was recently appointed Minister of Health. What is your favourite word? Try. Where did you grow up from? Partly in Burundi and Uganda Your favourite style of music… Jazz music. Who was your childhood best friend? My late uncle, Rev. Martin Nzaramba. The craziest thing you have ever done in life? Disappearing from home in 1990 to join the struggle without my parent’s consent. Your greatest fear.... Failing to give the best to myself. What keeps your awake at night? Thinking of how I can contribute to my country’s development, and also trying to figure out how I can give sufficient care to my family. People may not know, but you’re great at… I think they know better. All your money goes on what? Sorting out family issues and my children’s education. The city of your dream… Kigali 2020! What qualities do you like best about yourself? Being courageous, patient, hardworking, and imaginative… How often do you go to church? Every Sunday. What is your level of education? University. What do you do in your spare time? I play tennis at Nyarutarama Tennis Club, hangout with friends, read lots of books and newspapers. And for this case, my family is also the priority. So, I have to always spare time for my family. Where do you see yourself in five years’ time? Continuing contributing to the development of my country. What do you consider to be your bad habit? I tend to be so rude and impatient with people who’re always negative on others. Your favourite clothing style? A collection of formal wear. What is your hangout in Kigali? Nyarutarama Tennis club.
