The two sides set up the mouthwatering clash last evening after APR beat AS Kigali 3-2 to top their group, while Rayon Sports lost their last group game to SC Kiyovu 1-2. In the other semi-final fixture on Thursday, SC Kiyovu will take on DR Congo’s AS Vita Club – at the same venue. APR topped Group A with seven points ahead of second-placed AS Vita Club thanks to a superior goal difference, while the Blues finished in second place in Group B thanks to their loss to SC Kiyovu, with both clubs having six points each. Burundian Pierrot Kwizera scored the opening goal for Rayon on the 37th minute before SC Kiyovu equalised on the 63rd minute through Francis Moustapha, while Djuma Nizeyimana netted the winner for SC Kiyovu on the 84th minute. APR scored the opening the goal scoring through Muhadjir Hakizimana on the 32nd minute after Maxime Sekamana eliminated three defenders, before Hamidou Ndayisaba leveled matters on the 40th minute. Former APR striker Bernabe Mubumbyi made it two on 42nd minute and again it was Muhadjir Hakizimana who scored the equaliser for the military side on the 53rd minute before Andrew Buteera netted the winner on the 63rd minute for the champions. Both games were played at Kigali Regional Stadium.
