'365' signifies a year singer Danny Vumbi terms bitter because he was not allowed to release music within that timeline. The singer had terminated his contract with former record label Kikac Music and was obliged to wait for the contract to end. The Afrobeat artiste, real name Daniel Semivumbi, on December 19 launched his fourth album comprised of 10 songs. The singer’s album which has been in the studio for a whole year did not feature any artiste. In a recent interview with the press, the singer revealed that the reason behind the contract termination was the breaching of contract by both parties. He terminated the contract eight months before and he was obliged to not release any songs until the contract was terminated. “I could say this year was bitter because I couldn’t release a song but I’m thrilled to be back and striving. My album is now streaming on all audio platforms,” he said. In a previous interview with The New Times, he noted that his fans who have been longing to see him back with new music are in for another treat with good music like he used to in the previous years. He also said that his music represents transformative values. The album includes singles like ‘Rata Google’, ‘ Kimasomaso’, ‘ Usigare Amahoro’ cover by Francois Nkurunziza, ‘Amarira y’Ingona’, ‘Inyota’, ‘Mbaza Nkubaze’, ‘ Condom’, ‘Trois Cent Soixante Cinq’, ‘Twarahuje’, ‘Rwanda’. It was recorded by producers Tellthem, Pastor P, Madebeats and Bob Pro. The singer’s third album ‘Inkuru Nziza’ was launched virtually in June 2020. Other songs by Danny Vumbi include ‘Ni Danger’, ‘Abana Babi’, ‘Yibare’, and ‘Amakosa’ among others. The ‘Ni Danger’ hit maker is not just a singer but a good music composer who wrote hit songs like ‘Try Me’, ‘Ntibisanzwe’, ‘Active Love’, ‘Kundunduro’ and ‘Ntakibazo’ among others. Music career The singer’s career started way back in 2002, as a member of the all-boy band, The Brothers, alongside Victor Fidele and Fikiri Nshimiyimana, aka Ziggy55 before embarking on a solo career in 2012 that has seen him produce several singles and collaborations with renowned local musicians. He is now a household name on the local music scene and regarded among the best songwriters in Rwanda’s music industry.
