Three upcoming university students who recently hit the entertainment scene are to stage a concert at the School of Finance and Banking in Mburabuturo Kigali over the weekend. The show is part of the group’s fund raising drive, ahead of launching their debut album next year. The dance hall/Reggae music group brings together David Kamurasi aka Davie Ranks and Fred Kamali (Rick Max), both students at School of Finance and Banking (SFB). The third member of this group, which started last year, is Eustache Ntawiha aka Osta, a student of Information Technology at Kigali Institute of Science and Technology. They rose to fame early this year, when they released a hit—Iwacu literally translated to mean home. It describes how good and beautiful Rwanda is, the milk and the beautiful people. Edwin Mukiza, the group’s manager explains that the young talent is out to prove that one can go to school as well as play music. “Some people think musicians use drugs and don’t go to school. The (Demolition) Base is up to show the positive,” said Mukiza. Mukiza, a business man and proprietor of Union Hard Ware shop in town admits that it is important to support young talent. Ends
