To prove her music prowess, Josiane Uwineza aka Miss Jojo is set to launch her debut solo album. Titled ‘Genesis’, the 14-track CD contains hits like: Beltridah, Izuba Rirashe, Inshuti and Nyemerera Mana. The hits are a mixture of some Afrobeat, highlife, Reggae, dancehall, R&b and hip hop. She recorded from different studios including Safari Records, Narrow Road Production and Contact FM. But Miss Jojo says mastering of her album is to be done in Germany. Speaking about the album, Miss Jojo pointed out that her music is light. “I tried not to remind my listeners of poverty, disease and all the troubles in this world,” she said. Famous for her hit “Respect”, a song that propelled her on the local music charts, Miss Jojo, says to remain relevant in the music world, the concept is to keep it live and happy. “All the songs are my personal experiences and journey through life. I hope to touch everyone with this album and I pray the people find it worthwhile.” Vocalists like Intore Masamba, a cultural and blues singers, Rafiki—well known for his hip hop and dancehall tracks, Rwanda’s Chris Brown (Tom Close), and The Brother are expected to grace the launch. The English literature graduate from the National University of Rwanda uses Kinyarwanda, English and Swahili to entertain her fans. Ends
