Rayon Sports FC have signed Malian international Moussa Camara on a two-year contract—the 22-year-old forward arrived in Kigali on Sunday night. Djuma Masudi’s team also signed AS Muhanga central defender Jimmy Ange Mutsinzi, the 19-year- old put pen to paper on a two year-deal. The new signings were confirmed to Times Sport by Rayon Sports secretary general and spokesperson, Olivier Gakwaya on Monday. The two players have started pre-season training with the rest of the team in preparation for the 2016/17 season, which is due to start next month. Coming from Tunisia’s Avenir sportif de Kasserine, the deal will see Camara stay at the 2016 Peace Cup winners until end of the 2017/18 season. He is the second Malian on Rayon Sports books after Ismail Diarra. “Moussa Camara arrived in the country on Sunday night and was introduced at the club on Monday morning; he has a two-year contract. He is a complete striker, who we believe will play a pivotal role during his stay here,” Gakwaya told this paper on Monday. Gakwaya also said they are waiting for mifielder Pierrot Kwizera and new signing Abdul Rwatubyaye, both of whom have not yet reported for pre-season training. He said, “We are waiting for Rwatubyaye because he is contracted to Rayon Sports. We’ve been hearing reports in some media houses saying he has gone, but for us we have a contract with him and he cannot play anywhere without our permission.” The Peace Cup champions have also signed Shassir Niyonkuru from Burundian giants Vital’O, Zappy Ishimwe from Sunrise FC, Ivan Senyange, Frank Lomami and Nova Bayama. Rayon have also promoted four players from their youth team, they include; Willy Hamza Cyimana, Idrissa Sengimana, Hassan Hakizimana and Eric Muhanuka. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
