Editor, RE: “How we can build competitiveness in future Olympics” (The New Times, August 16). I read this article with tears in my eyes. I can’t comprehend why we cannot win even a single medal at such a global competition! Many of our brothers and sisters elsewhere on the continent are winning medals for their countries. They are their countries’ heroes when it comes to such competitions. I once saw a French citizen who came to train in Kenya alongside Kenyan runners, later on he finished third in a marathon. He said he owed all that to the training in Kenya. Can’t we nurture our talented men and women and give them a chance to train in Kenya if this can help improve their ability and competitiveness? We can do better. Sport Lover
