UNIVERSITY OF KIBUNGO (UNIK) will be looking to win a third trophy in one season when they compete in the 2016 Carre d’As tournament, which will be played over the weekend at Amahoro Indoor Stadium. UNIK won the League and KAVC memorial tournaments. “We are eyeing our third title this year, since we have been doing well we have to keep the spirit and we know we have a big threat in giants like Kirehe and APR but it’s time to continue working hard and rise to where we used to belong,” Ntagengwa said. He said the recent KAVC Memorial tourney was a good challenge for the club after finishing first, adding that the team is working on mistakes and weaknesses ahead of the kick-off of Carre d’As. “Our performance in the league and KAVC tourney shows how good preparation can win you games. We want something similar for the Carre d’As,” he noted. University of Kibungo will meet IPRC South and Kirehe before finishing the games against APR while APR will play against Kirehe and IPRC South before Kirehe takes on IPRC South on Saturday. After the robin round matches, the top two will meet in the final which is set for Sunday. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
