DR Congo military is holding a commander of the FDLR militia. According to the UN’s Radio Okapi, Maj. Sabimana Iraguha, alias Mugisha Vainqueur, a commander of the FDLR’s military wing, the Forces Combattantes Abacunguzi (FOCA), was captured last Thursday and paraded before the media on Friday, in the Provincial capital, Goma. He was captured at a place called Katiru, in the Rutshuru territory of North Kivu Province. Congolese authorities have, reportedly, been tracking him for various crimes, including the massacre of civilians in a village called Kamananga in the Bunyakiri territory of South Kivu Province, back in May 2013, when 32 people were killed. The FDLR comprises remnants of the former Rwanda Armed Forces (ex-FAR) and Interahamwe militia, both blamed for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, which claimed the lives of a million people. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
