National football league side, Bugesera FC have added four new players as they continue their rebuilding process ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, which starts next month. The Eastern Province-based side recently appointed former APR and Amavubi assistant coach Vincent Mashami as the new head coach on a one-year contract until end of the season. The latest signings were confirmed the club president Jean Claude Gahigi, and they include; forwards Bertrand Iradukunda and Bievenue Mugenzi from APR, left-back Mwemere Ngirinshuti from Police FC and veteran center back Aimable ‘Mambo’ Rucogoza from Gicumbi FC. Two weeks ago, Bugesera FC, which finished 7th in their debut league appearance, signed right back Yves Manishimwe from Mukura Victory Sports. All players have penned one-year contracts. According to Gahigi, the club is also in the market for two more strikers. “Mashami was given the task to finish in the top six in the league. We want to build strong team which can compete with the top clubs. We believe the new signings will help the team do much better in the coming season,” Gahigi said. Mashami, 34, replaces Ali Bizimungu, who spent one season with the Nyamata-based outfit and guided the club finish in a respectable 7th position with 37 points. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
