Chorale de Kigali, on Sunday, December 17, hosted its 10th Christmas Carols Concert at BK Arena to celebrate the festive season. The concert, which started at 6p.m, attracted a diverse audience, including senior government officials, religious figures, among others. Cardinal Antoine Kambanda opened the concert by reading from Luke 2:1, emphasizing the birth of Jesus. The choir then took the stage and had their first mesmerising performance. Prof Byiringiro Claude, an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Rwanda, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, who conducted the debut Christmas carol concert in 2013, led the 10th edition. Addressing the audience, he highlighted the choir's journey and introduced their new album titled Messiah, which they presented. It conveys the prophetic message and lifestyle of Jesus Christ. The presentation also featured a mix of solo performances and collective choir presentations, showcasing the hidden talents within the choir. The third part of the concert presented the junior choir, recently established to carry on the legacy of Chorale de Kigali. The young performers, through songs like Jingle Bells, You Raise Me Up, Twige Muzika, La Conta, and Colombe Ivre, successfully changed the mood in the arena, confirming their idea of sustaining the choir's legacy for many more years to come. Before the final segment of the concert, the president expressed gratitude to the attendees, acknowledging the continuous increase in attendance since 2013, leading to the relocation of the event to BK Arena and entertaining attendees from all walks of faith. The last 10 songs prompted everyone to dance until the concert's conclusion. Cardinal Kambanda closed the concert at 10:30, leading in prayer and extending Merry Christmas and Happy New Year wishes for 2024 to everyone in attendance.
