The High Commissioner of Rwanda in Ghana, Rosemary Mbabazi, on Saturday, December 16, urged Rwandans living in the West African country, especially the youth, to be conscious of their identity as Rwandans and live a life worthy as ambassadors of their homeland. Earlier, on Thursday, Mbabazi presented her letters of credence to Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in the capital Accra. “We are all ambassadors of Rwanda in the different spaces that we occupy. I encourage you to always exhibit the best standards and deliver your responsibilities with excellence,” she said on Saturday, December 16, during an end-of-year get-together of the Rwandan Community in Ghana which brought together more 100 Rwandans living and working in Ghana. A greater percentage of the Rwandans in Ghana are students. Mbabazi used the opportunity to wish Rwandans in Ghana and across the jurisdiction of the High Commission including Ghana, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo, a happy 2024 in advance. She highlighted major activities that will take place in Rwanda during 2024 to which all Rwandans, including those abroad are expected to contribute. The gathering was also an opportunity to welcome recently added members to the Rwandan Community in Ghana including the High Commissioner who presented her Letter of Credence to the President of Ghana only two days prior to the event. The Chairperson of the Rwanda Community in Ghana, François-Xavier Bikorimana, commended community members on their contributions to national programmes and seized the opportunity to sensitize them to stay connected and united. “Our unity is the main driver for all our contributions and progress,” he said.
