NATIONAL women volleyball champions, Rwanda Revenue Authority, have appointed Jean de Dieu Masumbuko as their new head coach. The president of the club Java Sebagenzi said: “We have picked Masumbuko because of his knowledge and experience in volleyball. He has good relationship with players and he was good player and we believe he will take us to another level.” Masumbuko replaces long-serving Jean-Luc Ndayikegurukiye, who left the club two months ago to take up a work in upcountry, and he could not mix both jobs simultaneously. Christophe Mudahinyuka, who has been in charge temporarily, also leaves to take up the role of assistant coach for the senior volleyball team, working under Paul Bitok. In his first games in change, Masumbuko-led RRA beat APR, St Alloys de Rwamagana and Ruhango High School in the league playoffs first round on Friday in Ruhango district. The opening RRA beat hosts Ruhango 3-1 (25-8, 25-18, 21-25 and 25-18), before win 3-0 over St Alloys de Rwamagana (25-13, 25-17 and 25-17).
