Thomas Muyombo, popularly known as Tom Close, is a 29-year-old artiste who swayed the music industry with hits such as Ndacyagukunda, Si beza and more. The singer is also a medical doctor and a writer. He had a chat with Donah Mbabazi. 1.What’s the one thing people don’t know about you? I love praying but since I am an artiste, we are perceived in a different way. 2.What has been the most important decision in your life? It was joining the faculty of medicine. 3.Your dream destination? That would be Scotland, there is a movie I watched called Braveheart, and it was a story of their struggles against the English Monarchy. It made me curious to know more about them. 4.What are you most afraid of? Dying at a young age because I don’t want to leave my kid behind when she’s still a baby. I want to be there for her till she grows up and is ready to take care of herself. 5.Best gift you’ve ever received? My daughter. 6.Ideal woman; slender or curves? With women, what I prefer most is their inner beauty, their physique doesn’t matter that much. Tom Close. 7.Three things you and your partner appear to have in common… We both don’t drink, we are prayerful and tidy. 8.What is your greatest indulgence? I always get lost in creativity. I like creating new things. 9.What should every man do at least once in their life? Having a family, because what I discovered after I got married is worth it and I would wish that for every man. 10.Books or movies? Movies. 11.The craziest thing you have ever done for love… I have done a lot of stuff but I can’t pick one as the craziest. I believe there are some things every man should do for a woman. 12.Twitter or Instagram? Twitter. 13.Who is your celebrity crush? Keri Hilson. 14.Do you believe in fate? Yes I do, I believe that everything that happens was meant to be. 15.What is the one thing that confuses people about marriage? People tend to believe that marriage is a burden because they don’t understand the sacrifice they have to make to live happily ever after. They confuse sacrifice with stress. Tom Close. (Net photos) 16.Most cherished childhood memory… My mum had a tradition of coming back from work and bringing me biscuits she had spared from her breakfast. She always saved some for her youngest son and I will always remember that. 17.Love or money? I don’t compare them, they are two different things but you can have them both at the same time. 18.Your ideal plan for a romantic evening Going out for a movie. 19.What quote do you live by? It’s in Kinyarwanda, Koresha umutwe wawe cangwa uwukorere; when you don’t use your head to think you use it to carry and that’s a choice one has to make. 20.First thing you do when you wake up? I first check my phone, browse through social media, take a bath and then sit with my family to pray. I then have breakfast then head to work. 21.What would you do differently if you could turn back time? I wouldn’t change a thing, I never regret the decisions I make because I always have reasons for what I do.
