Editor, RE: “Fans right to boo us, says Amavubi skipper” (The New Times, June 6). One needs to have an infinite capacity to absorb predictable disappointment to be emotionally invested in Rwandan football on the international stage (not that it is any better on the local scene). Fans who continue to await a miraculous outcome from our national representatives (whether at the national or club levels) in international competitions are a perfect illustration of Samuel Johnson’s famous quip about the triumph of hope over experience.
