RUBAVU-BASED Etincelles head coach Innocent Seninga is aiming to win his remaining league games to finish in a decent position. Seninga replaced Ugandan Ibrahim Kizito who was shown the exit following the club’s poor performance in February. Seninga took charge when the club was struggling in the second last position of the 16-team league table with six points, three ahead of bottom side, AS Muhanga. Currently, Etincelles FC is in 11th position with 27 points and will play their next game against rivals Marines on Sunday at Umuganda Stadium. The former Isonga coach managed to win more games including against APR 1-0, Sunrise 2-1, SC Kiyovu 2-0, Amagaju 2-0 and a draw against Rayon Sports 1-1. “It is good to get a point against big teams like Rayon Sports, so now our focus is to get maximum points in the five remaining games so that we can finish in the middle of the table,” Seninga said. “I want to build a strong team which will finish in a respectable place. I came in when the team was struggling, but I believe we will do much better in the next fixtures,” he added. Defending champions APR are leading the table with 58 points, four ahead of rivals Rayon Sports who have one game in hand against AS Muhanga. Only four matches are left to conclude the season. In the remaining games Seninga’s side will face AS Kigali at Kigali Regional Stadium; Bugesera and Mukura at Umuganda Stadium before winding up the season against Police at Kicukiro. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
