Editor, RE: “Rwanda welcomes imprisonment of Genocide suspect in Sweden” (The New Times, May 17). The Swedes have acted true to their solemn treaty obligation to punish those suspected of committing the most heinous crime recognized by humanity. It is well past time that those others who claim to similarly be respectful of their international engagements begin emulating Stockholm and take real action to arrest and effectively try the génocidaires on their territory rather than merely go through the motions as we have seen many times in genocidaires-friendly France. Truly civilized people everywhere should feel it is their legal and moral obligation to ensure these mass murderers do not feel they have found safe haven on their territories. MK
