Afro Beat singer Mako Nikoshwa is set to release yet another single called - Weekend about the mood of life during weekends. Speaking to The New Times, yesterday, at his residence in Kacyiru, Nikoshwa said that the song is a tribute to all those who always look forward to the weekend as a time to shake off stress after a long week of work. Dancing during the weekend is also a form of exercise. The weekend should be a time not only to shed off the stress, but also dance to keep healthy. The audio of the song will be produced by producer Jimmy of Level 9 Records, while its video version will be produced by Ivan Seminega aka Biggy. No matter your age or the challenges you are going through, the weekend should be a time you put on a different mask and show the happiness side of you through enjoying good music, and merry making with your friends, says Nikoshwa. The singer, who is now showing steady recovery after ailing for some time, has so far this year produced singles like, Merina and Imana Ikorera Mubantu (God works through people). The latter is a tribute to his legion of fans and friends who showed him compassion throughout the period he was hospitalised, through prayers and material and emotional support, saying that without them “I couldve been dead by now. He adds. “The time I was hospitalised people of all walks of life came to see me while others contributed through their prayers. It shows how God normally works wonders through people and I wanted to immortalise this show of compassion through a song. However, its the Weekend song that is clearly going to show the versatile trait of Nikoshwa, with some people describing him as old is gold since he normally releases new hits that take the musical stage by storm. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
