Editor, RE: “Needed: Proposals to raise education quality” (The New Times, March 29). A lot has been done in Rwanda over the last 22 years, not just in education sector but in all areas of economic development – thanks to our national visionary leaders. I wholeheartedly agree that people should always think of ways to make things even better. Complaining about something and not propose a solution won’t do us any better. I attended secondary school in Rwanda and when I was bestowed the Presidential Scholarship to attend William Penn University in Iowa, USA, I did quite well. This is just another example of how our education system is among the best in the world. If anyone disagrees with me can they provide one single example of Rwandan students abroad performing poorly? Even if they were its conditionally accepted because of studying in a third language, but the truth is that they all do wonders in their respective universities. We should all be proud of how far we have come over the last 22 years. Even more development projects are in the pipeline. Jean-Chrysostome Bikomeye
