Both teams go into the game seeking to win and close the gap on leaders Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle, who play away to Gasabo FC. Esperance are second with 23 points while Vision FC are third, two points adrift. In Group B, leaders Etoile de l’Est face Kicukiro-based Aspor at Kicukiro stadium, Interforce play Miroplast at FERWAFA ground, struggling Rugende play SEC Academy at Rugende grounds while Nyagatare face Pepiniere.
