The Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) on Friday, December 8, announced that the City of Kigali will host the 2024 FIA annual general assembly. READ ALSO: FIA/CACMS congress meets in Kigali The decision was made public during the 2023 FIA Annual General Assemblies in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 2018, Kigali hosted the Confederation of Africa Countries Motorsport (C.A.C.M.S.) congress at the Kigali Convention Center and Radisson Blue Hotel. The three-day congress brought together representatives from 18 countries, including FIA President Jean Todt and other senior officials. The FIA Annual General Assembly week, which is chaired by the FIA President, is a significant event in the FIA calendar. It features meetings between FIA member organizations with the goal of approving proposals to advance mobility and motor sport. The assembly serves as the supreme decision-making body of the FIA. Representatives from the World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism, as well as the World Motor Sport Council, along with the Mobility and Motor Sport divisions of the FIA, come together for this event.
