Editor, RE: “Study abroad: Students who have lived it share experiences” (The New Times, March 29). This is such a truthful and well-crafted article. There are some colleagues back in Rwanda who think that going abroad is a joke or just leisure; far from that. Having lived and studied in the USA, UK and currently in Canada, I can assure you that home is the best. Going abroad is surely an exposure to different opportunities. But you experience these opportunities as challenges. It is a hard life out here, but it is fully rewarding for you, your family and your country, only when you decide to return home. I am not blaming those who opt to live abroad all their lives, but I believe they miss something out. Jean-Leon Iragena
