Editor, RE: “Commit to hard work: Kagame” (The New Times, March 26). It was very inspiring to read President Paul Kagame’s message to residents of Rubavu District. There is absolutely no substitute for hard work and this was very clearly highlighted by President Kagame when he remarked that the “journey to development requires hard work, but the alternative means poverty, disease, and death ... let us commit to the hard work needed to transform our country and reject the alternative.” The President also highlighted the need for education. Rwanda is blessed to have international universities which have invested and continue to invest millions of dollars in enhancing Remarkable Rwanda’s education sector. With a pro-active approach to investors in the education and other priority sectors of the economy,Rwanda will continue to strive for excellence under the visionary and astute leadership of a President who has not only made a mark for himself but has also put the country on the world map in terms of good governance, ease of doing business and zero tolerance to corruption.
