APR won in straight sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-17 and 25-17) and afterwards head coach Sammy Mulinge said, “It is good always to beat your rivals but we have to continue working hard because the league has a long way to go, and we have to stay focused.” His opposite number, Fidele Nyirimana said: “We lost many players at the end of the season so it is not a surprise that APR beat us today.” Elsewhere, defending champions INATEK beat Kigali Volleyball Club 3-0 in Ngoma to stay on top of the table with 17 points after six games. Marshal Kwizera’s second-placed Kirehe thrashed Umubano Blue Tigers 3-0 (25-11, 25-18 and 25-22) while IPRC-South beat Lycee de Nyanza 3-0 (25-15, 27-25 and 25-21).
