The Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee (RNOSC) will hold their General Assembly on Saturday at Hotel BELVEDERE in Rubavu district. According to Fiddle Sebalinda, the RNOSC media officer, a number of issues including the report of what was achieved in 2015; plans and budget for 2016 are expected to top the agenda. Last May, during the African International Sports Convention, RNOSC president Robert Bayingamba presented a five-year strategic plan of action to develop sport in the country. Officials says, at the moment, the strategy is at the implementation stage, which involves talent detection at the grassroots level, developing sports tourism as well as partnering with regional countries like Kenya to train local athletes. A roadmap was also developed to put the strategy in practice through best ways like having a long-term vision, day to day values, and also to integrate sports leaders in management of change, structures and sending more athletes to compete in the Olympic Games. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
