Editor, RE: “Even in the digital era, the newspaper remains critical” (The New Times, February 19). I agree on most of the writer’s points. I am as young as 25 soon turning 26 but still enjoy printed newspapers. It is sad that it is not that easy for me to buy one each day due to the cost and availability compared to online versions and my financial capacity. I remember when I was in my teens and below, I enjoyed my father’s old newspapers from 1980s and 1990s, they are among my important sources of knowledge, thanks to my father. Now my worry is how my children will get such opportunity to know the past based on daily basis life which can only be seen in newspapers. Only 0.00..1% of online papers’ readers go back in time to read news of previous days and weeks, while whenever we find any kind of printed copy we are all attracted to look through its pages. For those with means, I recommend them as well to buy at least one each day. Patrick Kayeye
