The weekend is here! If January blues haven’t affected you, then there are plenty of fun places to go to. Here are some suggestions; Kigali Jazz Junction Jazz and music lovers in general, are in for the fourth edition of the ‘Jazz Junction’ this Friday. Chilean guitarist, Tito Al Uribe, will be entertaining revelers at Kigali Serena Hotel, alongside Neptunez Band and Ugandan saxophonist Herbert Rock. Doors open at 6:30pm. Hobe Africa Festival Three events will be organized from starting today with the Rwandan Traditional Dance & Live Music followed by ‘Game Sessions & Music’ by DJ Miller on Saturday; and finally the ‘Pan African Art Celebration’ on Sunday. The events will feature music, culture display, games, and poetry, among others. The free entrance events all take place at the Car Free Zone. Just buy a drink and enter. Poetry After a hectic week, you can also check out the second Poetry Slam slated for Saturday at The Manor Hotel in Nyarutarama. Ten poets are expected to grace the show. Sports You can watch your favourite team this weekend; CHAN games are on and you can also enjoy some healthy work-out routines at Nyarutarama Sports Trust Club; it has an outdoor tennis court, a swimming pool and gym. Mamba Club is home to Kigali’s only bowling alley. It offers plenty of recreational options like volleyball, foosball, Ping Pong, Billiards, and a swimming pool. Night life Put on your dancing shoes and check out some of Kigali’s hottest nightclubs; K-Club in Nyarutarama, People’s Club in Kacyiru, Le Must in Kiyovu, Deep Club in Remera, and Envy in Kimihurura are sure to give you a thrill. Movies This weekend, film lovers are in for a treat with “The Revenant” showing at Century Cinema, Kigali City Tower.It’s on at 3:45pm and 6:30pm during weekends.
