The 2016 Men’s African Clubs Championships will be held in Egypt, Cairo from March, 21-April 2, according to Africa Volleyball Confederation. Rwanda will be represented by National Volleyball league reigning champions Kibungo University of Technology, Agriculture and Education (INATEK). Last week the club signed Ugandan international Daudi Okello on a-one year deal ahead of the event. “We have the pleasure to inform you that the CAVB has entrusted Egypt Volleyball Federation to organise the 2016 Men’s African Clubs Championship to be held in Cairo,” Howyda Mondy, CAVB Executive Director said in an email. The teams will arrive in Cairo, on March, 21 before the technical team meet ahead of the competition start on March 23. Participating Teams will have to register with CAVB before the February, 20 deadline after payment of $ 1,000 participation fees. Last year, in Tunisia, champions APR failed to make impact in the tourney as they failed to go past group stages.The champions of the thirteen-day tournament will represent Africa at the 2015 Men’s Club World Championship. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
