APR head coach Thierry Froger has lamented his side's missed chances in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against AS Kigali in the Primus National League. The Frenchman is satisfied with the job the club is doing at the back but he maintains that the attackers let him down as they failed to convert clear chances that could have propelled the team at the top of the table following Musanze FC’s 2-0 defeat to Gasogi United on Sunday. Lots of regrets from the game...we missed many opportunities to score and regain confidence and we paid dearly for it. The most important thing was to secure a win but we couldn't. I have good defense and it is usually hard to change players at the back, Froger told journalists in a post-match interview. The last 10 minutes of the games were full of drama as striker Innocent Nshuti saw his goal disallowed after referees ruled that Mbaoma had fouled AS Kigali goalkeeper Pascal Niyonkuru before the ball went Nshuti’s way only to send it at the back of the net. The striker was later awarded a penalty in the additional time but he missed it to AS Kigali’s relief as both teams settled for a 1-1 draw. Commented on Nshuti's penalty miss, Froger emphasized he doesn't have a permanent penalty taker as everyone is eligible for that duty. We don't have a particular penalty taker. Usually he is one who has confidence takes it or the players themselves can choose who to take it, he explained.
