Editor, RE: “Is the ‘right to be forgotten’ important?” (The New Times, January 20). Before you advocate that we also adopt the “right to be forgotten”, simply because Europeans have got this brand new right lately, we first and foremost need the “right to life”. It seems that Africans’ life doesn’t matter much; they are dying in thousands every week, their governments seem not to care, and the citizens are being desensitised to such loss of lives as a normative way of life.
