Zambia skipper Christopher Katongo says the team is keeping its feet firmly on the ground despite beating Angola in a friendly on Sunday. After Chipolopolo beating Angola 2-1 in friendly game in Johannesburg, Zambia will head to Rwanda ahead of the 2016 Caf African Nations Championship (Chan) that will run from January 16 to February 7. “We are happy to win but it’s not the score line which was important. We wanted to see how well we have prepared.” He said “We know that at final tournaments there are no easy games and every group is tough. So it was important for us to show good progress.” Katongo added Adriano put Angola in the lead but Cletus Chama equalized to see the two sides go 1-1 into the break before Mwila Phiri handed Zambia the win. “I am sure with the work we have done and will put in over the coming days, we will be ready to do our best and well in Rwanda,” Katongo noted. Zambia head to Rwanda head to Kigali on Wednesday and Chipolopolo side will kick off their Chan campaign on January 19 against Zimbabwe before facing Uganda in their penultimate Group D match on January 23 and face Mali four days later.
