Azam Rwanda Premier League side, Mukura Victory Sports has refuted reports that the Huye-based club has signed Burundi international, Emmanuel Ngama. It was reported earlier this week in local and Kenyan media that the 23-year- old Tusker FC midfielder has joined Mukura on a three-year deal. “It’s not true, there is nothing linking us to Ngama at all, at least at the moment. We have no new signing at the club and I see no reason of hiding if he was there,” Mukura VS secretary general, Hamdan Habimana, told this paper on Thursday. Born on July 1, 1992 in Burundi’s capital, Ngama started his senior career at Bujumbura-based Atletico Olympic before moving to Belgian third division side FCV Dender EH in the summer of 2009. He returned a season later to join URA FC in Uganda and later joined Kenya’s FC Leopards. Currently, he is playing for Tusker FC in the Kenyan Premier League. Currently fifth on the league table standings, Mukura (17 points) are four points adrift of table leaders AS Kigali, coached by former Rwanda international Eric Nshimiyimana. Due to the upcoming 4th edition of the Africa Nations Championship to be staged in Rwanda from January 16 through February 7, the national league was suspended in November and will resume after CHAN. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
