According to tribuneonlineng.com, the team led by Nigeria league hotshot award winner, Gbolahan Salami, emerged the top scorer of the just-ended Glo Premier League season with 17 goals for Warri Wolves, which finished second behind Enyimba. The selected players include; Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Thomas Olufemi (goalkeepers), Kalu Orji, Austin Oboroakpo, Jamiu Alimi (defenders), Ifeanyi Mathew, Paul Onobi, Usman Mohammed and Bature Yaro (midfielders), Ezekiel Bassey, Tunde Adeniji, Chisom Chikatara and Prince Aggrey (forwards). The Super Eagles team ‘B’ has been drawn into group C alongside Niger, Tunisia and Guinea, with matches to be played at the Kigali Regional Stadium, Nyamirambo. Rwanda, who didn’t have to go through the rigors of qualifying courtesy of being hosts, are in Group A along with Cote d’Ivoire, Morocco and Gabon. African Nations Championship has been designed for players featuring in their home leagues. Nigeria won the bronze medal at the last African Nations Championship held in South Africa in early 2014, the fourth edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
