Africa Rising Cycling Centre will host the inaugural Team Rwanda junior camp from December 7-18 in Musanze District, Northern Province. According to a statement from Team Rwanda, the two-week training camp attracted 10 selected junior riders from five cycling clubs in Rwanda as well as four foreign riders from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya and Uganda, aged between 15-18 years. Team Rwanda technical director Jonathan ‘Jock’ Boyer said, “Team Rwanda is committed to sharing its knowledge and skills in helping young cyclists from neighbouring countries who do not have the support afforded to Team Rwanda in our partnership with a strong federation, FERWACY.” Rwanda junior riders in camp include; Ally Dukuzumuremyi and Jean Marie Kwitonda (Fly Cycling Club), Eric Manizabayo and Yvan Ngabonziza (Benediction), Samuel Hakiruwizeye and Jean de Dieu Mucyo (CCA)(Abraham Ruhumuriza’s son), Rene Ukiniwabo and Janvier Rugamba (Amis Sportif), Mike Gatarayiha and Mustafa Sibomana (Cine Elmay). The foreigner riders include: Salim Kipkemboi and Vincent Kangangi from Kenya, Charles Kagimu of Uganda, and another youngster from DR Congo. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
