They are also adored and worn by both the elderly and the young. “For a stunning look, accessorise that cleavage showing blouse with a necklace,” she says. Uwimana also adds that chunky necklaces are also in style and can go with a little black dress (or any dress for that matter), or even a casual outfit. However, Uwimana advises that colourful necklaces should be worn on plain outfits to avoid clashing. James Habimana makes jewellery and handbags and has a shop in Kimironko Market. “Necklaces enhance an outfit, but you have to be careful to pick the right one. They are elegant; and there’s a necklace for every outfit and occasion,” he says. Habimana adds that for women who like to keep their outfits simple and cool, a necklace is the best accessory to finish that look.
