The 2015/2016 National Basketball League season will start on November 14. The Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA) secretary general, Richard Mutabazi has said. Mutabazi also revealed that United Generation Basketball (UGB), which pulled out of the league in the middle of last season, are back in the championship. Espoir (men) and APR (women) are the reigning regular season and playoffs champions. Last season, the league had 17 (12 male and 5 female) teams but two men’s clubs namely Kigali Basketball Club (KBC) and UGB pulled out midway the season. KBC pulled out after a fatal road accident that claimed their coach-player Jean Guy Rutayisire, while UGB withdrew over misunderstandings with FERWABA. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
