Only Rwandans can determine the destiny of their leadership

Editor, RE: “Rwanda braces for quality governance through self-choice of leadership” (The New Times, October 10). Thanks for the good article. There’s no question that quality governance through self-choice of leadership comes from great leaders like Paul Kagame. Rwandans are no fools, for once in their life time somebody not only gave them dignity, prosperity but also prolonged their life span—leave alone reconciling them and making them brothers and sisters against all odds.The otherwise chronic divisions perpetrated by bankrupt leadership for decades are now a thing of the past; it is now Ndi Umunyarwanda. Our beloved country that in fact was a failed state two decades ago is now an icon of peace and sustainable socioeconomic development and the head quarter of SDGs in Africa after hitting virtually all MGDs. Like South Africans say, “the people have spoken” but Rwandans have not only spoken but made a judicious choice. They want Paul Kagame for to maintain this momentum of socio-economic redevelopment that has been and continue to be inclusive. Tertiary institutions have increased from 7 in 1994 to 45 this year and thousands of young Rwandans are acquiring knowledge and skills through TVETs and all Rwandan children are going to school without discrimination (like it used to be during the apartheid-like system decades ago). So, with President Paul Kagame, the future of Rwanda is brighter and Rwandans know this, and hence the right choice. Like he always reminds Rwandans, “we have achieved a lot and more remains to be done” and we have what it takes to reach where we want to be a great nation with great dignified people. The struggle continues. With President Kagame at the helm, the sky is the limit. We shall win. Karemera
