FridayAPR FC 2-0 Bugesera Amagaju 2-1 Espoir FC APR FC interim coach Emmanuel Rubona has hailed his side after securing three crucial points against newly promoted Bugesera in the Azam Rwanda Premier League match played on Friday at Kicukiro stadium. Central defender Abdul Rwatubyaye and striker Issa Bigirimana netted for the military side to give them their second win of the season. The 15-time Rwandan champions started the campaign with a 1-0 win over Etincelles on the opening weekend before losing to Mukura 2-0 and drawing with Police 1-1. “I am happy and I am sure everyone connected to this club is happy because we needed this win badly to move up the table, but we have to stay calm and focus on the next match against Rwamagana City,” Rubona said. He added, “This was an important result for us. We are delighted to be in this position, and I hope we can continue to do well from now onwards. It was a very tough game but the players were excellent.” The win moved the defending champions up to third position with seven points, level with as leaders AS Kigali, who face Gicumbi FC on Sunday. Bugesera coach Ali Bizimungu said that, “We are very disappointed because we wanted to win this game or get at least a point but this is part of the game. We have to move on and prepare for the next matches.” Elsewhere on Friday, Adolphe Hakundukize and Saiba Claude Mumbele were on target as Amagaju beat Espoir 2-1 to move to fourth position also with seven points after four matches.
