Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK) captain Mike Buzangu has challenged teammates to win the FIBA Africa Zone Five Club Championship, scheduled for October 4-11 at Amahoro indoor stadium. Buzangu eyes Zone V title. (Sam Ngendahimana) The week-long tournament will bring together sixteen teams where the winners in each gender will represent the region at the 2015 Africa FIBA Club Championships, which will be held in Angola in December. “We are hungry to win this tournament. It’s a tough competition but we also have to be strong enough against very strong opponents if we are to achieve our target,” Buzangu told Times Sport on Saturday. The DR Congo-born point guard, who also played for APR, Espoir and the Rwanda national team, added, “We missed out on the league as well as the playoffs titles but we can win the Zone V Championships, it’s possible because we will be playing at home.” The regional event will bring together the champions of Kenya, Burundi, Uganda, Ethiopia and hosts Rwanda, who will be represented by four teams including Espoir and Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK) in men’s category and Ubumwe and APR for the women’s category. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
