Will Aston Villa capitalise on Liverpool’s current woes to inflict further damage on Brendan Rodgers’ fate? Can City return from London with the bad stat of two straight defeats? SATURDAY Spurs 2-2 Man City 1.45pm Tottenham Hotspur have been struggling but they are pulling results. Harry Kane, like the rest of the wonder kids of last season, is struggling and seems to have forgotten how to celebrate a goal. Manchester City, meanwhile, were brought back to earth, conceding and losing their first league game at home to giant killers West Ham United. I fancy a draw at White Hart Lane. West Ham 0-0 Norwich 4pm They are giant killers but against their own weight, they come short. They beat Arsenal and folded, beat Liverpool and folded. And again they beat Man City. Will the Hammers fold again or will Slaven Bilic have got the antidote? Norwich are coming off a draw at Anfield and this is their chance for another draw or even a massive three points. SAINTS 3-2 SWANSEA 4pm Southampton’s defence went to sleep against Manchester United and lost all three points despite start the game well. Can they repeat similar mistakes? Ronald Koeman has pledged his allegiance to St Mary’s despite heavy links to Netherlands. He can shore up his chances of being Dutch manager further with a win against travelling Swansea City that have lost their mojo since the international break. Liverpool 1-2 VILLA 4pm Aston Villa have always fought hard at Anfield. The last two fixtures were particularly edgy, with Villa affording to leave Anfield with a point. Tim Sherwood will be under pressure if he loses again, but not as much pressure as Brendan Rodgers, who has ten days to save his job. Already, the Liverpool board are contacting his possible replacement. Defeat to Villa will just convince the board to speed up the sharpening of the massive axe. Can Rodgers win a game with a squad that seems to have lost character and are increasingly looking clueless? Christian Benteke is still out injured so Villa will sigh with relief. LEICESTER 1-2 ARSENAL 4pm Arsenal Wenger has admitted he erred in returning Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez too soon. Wenger panicked in the opening game against West Ham when his side went two goals down by throwing the Chilean straight into the pan. The result? Sanchez is struggling for the form that endeared him to fans last season. He is yet to score this season. N’castle 0-2 CHELSEA 6.30pm Newcastle have always given Chelsea a run for their Russian money in either of their meets, but chances that it will be at St James Park that they cause Mourinho problems are next to zero. Chelsea bad boy Diego Costa is suspended, so the midfielders will be expected to create and score. Still, they should have a win.
